It was fine but...

I flunk my paper, it was fine.

But it wasn't so when people around you were over-concerned bout it. I was keeping it low but everyone seemed to know when acca results was releasing.

Just a day before it released, I went to my friend's place to pai nin. As soon as I sat down in front of the mahjong table, my friend pointed a finger at me and said "Oi! The results is gonna release tomorrow." Good. Now everyone knew about it. The other one said, "So bad la you, remind her of that at this happy moment." She got offended, "What! I'm expecting her to pass." Even better. But what if it turned out otherwise? Did you consider that? "Oh, I don't want to know bt it myself. I said. But she didn't get it. Before I left, she stopped me and said above her voice, "Wenhui! I'll be waiting for your good news!"(hinting me to let her know bout the results asap.)  "Me too!"said another girl.

Since when my results has become everyone's business. "Harr..." was all I could say.

And the next day I didn't tell anyone of them about my results. They didn't ask and they probably could've guessed. But why?? Why do you need to know? Maybe I'm defensive but I think sometimes people poke their nose in your stuff merely out of bitchiness rather than care, and being competitive.

Hello, give me room to breathe and to heal my wound just in case I'm not doing so well can or not? When u fail your paper the last thing you want is the whole world to know.
Sulking is a plane you wanna fly solo.

Failing a paper or two was fine, it really was!

So I didn't mourn over it long before I decided to brace up and to fight for the next war. And my first resolution was to quit FB because I was spending so much time on it. I need to spend more time with books! And thus I deactivated it.

AND YET it became another issue, the ji muis found out about it and starting asking me why why WHY? I was being all positive I wanted to study and now it seemed to them I was heavily stricken.....*sigh*

And to avoid being bombarded with questions I also turned down an outing with them on Sunday. I don't know what they would think again but I couldn't care anymore.

P/S: Thanks for drawing everyone's attention to my failure and thanks for magnifying my grief. Thank you!

Blur Case

This morning I arrived at the office waiting to be served but no one was there. I didn't want to wait long so I found the hp number of the person in charge(David) and asked why was the place left unattended. Before he replied, someone came back and I forgot about the message I sent.

About 1 to 2 hours later, someone whose number I didn't save in my hp sms-ed me.

016-&*$#@%#: Come to canteen 2 la.

Me: Who are u? (I thought it's my coursemate looking for me!)

No replies for another 30 minutes.

016-&*$#@%#: David

LOL!

If you don't get it, I found it funny because I was the one who started the smse and yet I asked him who he is when he answered. And it instantly put a smile on my face thinking of my own silliness eventhough my mood wasn't right then because I was so tensed up!

And imagine if you are David.

The CNY, 2010 (part 1)

Both my dad and mum come from big families, they have a lot of siblings, so the CNY is usually very happening for us.

This is the usual activity at my father's side  family, poker gambling. The lady in red shirt is my legendary aunt(I've mentioned bt her a few times in the blog), as the banker, and her two little devils won't give her a break. And the kids sitting in a circle including the two devils are my cousins. I'm the eldest daughter in the family.

While the men are playing mahjong, my popo was very busy in the kitchen. She was always the main cook during CNY, ever since...like forever. She can cook the best hakka dishes. Hakka dishes are generally aren't very delicate, they are served in very big portions.

My popo very cute can! When she knew I was taking her picture she said "Aiyo, let you took my pic edi!"(in Hakka) She then proceeded to pose for my camera for another shoot! Hahaha.

I love my popo and she's one of my most favourite person in the world. I miss her!

And my mum was helping out!

These are the simple ingredients to the yummiest dishes of the year.(Actually every year it's the same thing and yet it's still the hottest!)

The 'Chai Choi', some vege and dried bean curd sticks(fuzhu) cooked with fermented bean curd, it must have a name for it I don't know what's it.

My brother and my 'ah sou' who was never shy about taking pictures!

On day one of CNY, we can only eat vegetarian. Look at the variety of vegetarian dishes! I know they don't look very tempting because they are of a colour series(lol) but they are indeed very yummy, whatever u want, we have it in vegetarian version, fish, roasted goose/duck, pork ribs, chicken feet and etc., you name it, we have it.

Then before midnight , we 'open fast' by having a whole roasted pig. Too bad we(my immediate family) din stay long enough for the roasted pig. And the next day lion dance will come to every houses!! This is one of my favourite session. Too bad I didn't get to see it this year.

This is another picture of me at Genting.
Had got nothing to do when my aunt was fighting the wars in the casino with the Lim's!

This is the 1st hamper I've ever bought and it's for my 'yifu' and family. Was expecting them to be happy over it(especially my 'yi' sis and bro), my 'yifu' asked me not to buy them anymore hamper because first, it's a waste of money and 2nd,they have got enough of snacks at home. =p Okie, bad choice of buah tangan.

(to be continued....)

The CNY Outfit Post

DAY 1
This is my day one outfit, some oriental rich tai tai look, muahaha, din mean to look like one, it's just something I bought last minute, not too bad I guess. On the same day we went to Genting, I din like gambling much but my aunt managed to win some RM2k and my bro and I got RM200 tips each,HAPPY!

DAY 2
Still the same shawl but a different look, if you can't tell, it's a jumper. I kinda like one-piece lately, no mix-matching fuss.

DAY 4
Went to Pahang to visit my 'yifu', doesn't matter if you don't know what's a 'yifu'. Wanted to look all ladylike and I actually put on a dress. But that means I couldn't ride on a motorcycle! To me the most fun part of it is to go 'long kai' on a motorbike at night and to feel the wind sweeping through your face and in your hair(I swear I once saw a shooting star across the sky while I was 'long-kaiing' there!). And hence this casual look.

DAY 6
And this was a usual catch-up with friends, nothing's special lo, just a simple dress, and the leopard print little bag again. Now I'm carrying the bag everywhere I go.

And today it's the day 7, it's 'yan yat'! We are supposed to 'lou sang' for auspicious means. But then my family din want to because they don't eat it. It's not like I want to eat, just for the fun of it and hoping for a better year ahead! *Fine, I'm superstituous.*

A Short Post to conclude Jan2010.

If there's something that symbolizes my 1st month of 2010, it's this. A mobile fan I got from a gift exchange session.

I always had no luck in lucky draw and things like that so when I knew the gift I've picked is a fan I was like "Oh, something useful, cool!"

But when I put in battery it didn't work. -____________________________-

So all I want to say is, "Things just aren't as good as they seem to be sometimes."

P/S: An unrelated picture to share, a Ayamas confinement drumstick! Anyone? =D

My first attempt in Cooking

I'm motivated! I just wanna cook!

So far so good and luckily I haven't burned my kitchen!

This is CLAYPOT CHICKEN RICE. The left is what I cooked and the right is how it was supposed to look like.

A bit bland.

MANGO STICKY RICE
Okie, it was gross, but it's because of the excess coconut milk and my glutinous rice was yellowish because I used brown sugar instead of caster sugar. I think this is the yummiest of the bunch!!! My mum agreed with me.

CAPSISUM MASHED POTATO
I almost broke my fingers mashing all the potatoes with a spoon, so damn tiring! And I made too much of it. I retched at it on the 1st day because it's all pureed.(Also out of tiredness I think ) But the 2nd day I made a brave move to try the leftover mashed potato again it tasted surprisingly good! Maybe the potatoes 'settled down' and the potato smell wasn't so intense already.

What will I try next? Gambatae!

The Prophecy out of a Tiny Little Mole

"It means you'll become a third party to a relationship."
That's what a mole reader told me referring to the mole on the middle of my right cheek. I didn't get it removed because it's so expensive, RM40 to remove a tiny little mole? I've got so many on my face how much I have to pay to get them all removed?

Over the years, coincidence or not, things turned out sorta like what the mole reader told. Not that I destroyed anyone's relationship, but unconsciously became one is more like it. And sometimes when guys tell you he's single, they're not.

My ex, was in an relationship when I first met him but of course I didn't know about it. Then he decided to quit to be with me, also without me knowing. When I got to know about it, we were officially together.

During my interns, I got to know this senior, down to earth, a bit of workaholic, always neat, but he's already taken. The first time I worked under him I already knew. When I saved my number in his phone I saw a contact number under the name of '******* Darling'.

When we got a bit closer and I asked him about it, he said no, he didn't have a gf. We got along quite well. I have to admit I have a crush on him but nothing more. And all the while he kept telling me he had no gf.

Once, when we were having lunch with his friends, his friend asked him, where's your gf? I smiled knowingly upon hearing that, he was quite awkward, "I told her I don't have a gf..."  "Ops!"

Maybe it's destined, maybe it's coincidence, or it's just that great guys are often taken, as simple as that.

I'm single for quite some times since my last relationship, there's no one that makes me feel like I wanna start a relationship with so far. Except for this guy, E, whom my heart responded with frenzy thumps the first time I met him. And my heart also died along with the news about him started a relationship.

There's no rush in this matter to me. I used to take more than 2 years to quit a dreadful relationship and I know I can't afford to fall into another one.

"Someday someone will walk into your life and make you realise why it never worked out with anyone else."
This is one of my all time favourite quotes which I attached at the bottom of the blog.
